Power Sled Backward Push

With the back to the sled and the hands on its low posts behind the hips, sink into a squat and push it backward with short steps.

How to do it

Setup

Back to the sled, hands gripping its posts behind the hips, knees bent, chest up.

Steps

  1. Step backward, driving the sled with the legs.
  2. Stay low, the hips close to the posts.
  3. Keep the steps short and the push steady.

Common mistakes

Pushing with the arms: they only hold the posts; the legs move the sled. Rising tall: keep the hips down in the squat. Rounding the back over the posts: keep the chest up.

Breathing

Steady and strong; never held.
