Lying Crossover Stretch
On the back with the arms out wide and the legs raised, one straight leg swings across the body to meet the opposite hand; the hips turn and the side of the waist and the outer hip stretch.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on the back, arms out wide on the floor, both legs raised straight.
Steps
- Swing one straight leg across the body toward the opposite hand.
- Reach that hand up to meet the foot, the shoulders staying on the floor.
- Bring the leg back up and cross the other one.
Common mistakes
Throwing the leg across: swing it under control and stop where the waist pulls. Both shoulders peeling off the floor: the far shoulder anchors the twist. Knee bending to reach the hand: keep the leg long and let the hand come to meet it.
Breathing
Exhale as the leg crosses, inhale bringing it back.
