Lying Chin Tucks
The chin tuck lying face up: the chin draws in and the back of the head glides along the floor, flattening the neck.
How to do it
Setup
On your back on the floor, legs long or knees bent, the head resting flat, eyes on the ceiling.
Steps
- Draw the chin in and down, as if making a double chin.
- Let the back of the head slide up the floor without lifting.
- Hold briefly, then release to the start.
Common mistakes
Lifting the head off the floor: this is a glide, not a crunch; the head stays down. Forcing the chin down with a clenched jaw: relax the face and move from the neck. Arching the neck on the release: return only to neutral.
Breathing
Exhale as the chin draws in, inhale releasing.
