Assisted Chin Tuck

Back and head against a wall, the fingers on the chin guide it straight back so the head slides up the wall; the hand only helps.

How to do it

Setup

Standing with the heels, back and head against a wall, two fingers resting on the chin.

Steps

  1. Draw the chin straight back, the fingers adding a light push.
  2. Feel the back of the head slide up the wall.
  3. Release the fingers and let the head return.

Common mistakes

Pressing hard with the hand: a light guide, never a shove. Tipping the chin down to the chest: the chin slides back, level. Head leaving the wall: keep contact the whole rep.

Breathing

Exhale as the chin slides back, inhale releasing.
