London Bridge
Feet braced, walk the hands down a hanging rope until the body leans far back, then climb hand over hand back to upright; a rope climb done at an angle.
How to do it
Setup
A climbing rope hanging in front of you, feet braced against a base under it, hands high on the rope, body straight.
Steps
- Lower the body back by moving one hand below the other down the rope.
- Keep one straight line from heels to head as the angle opens.
- Climb hand over hand back up to upright.
Common mistakes
Hips sagging as you lean back: brace the abs and squeeze the glutes. Sliding the hands instead of moving them one at a time: the rope burns; regrip hand below hand. Leaning back farther than you can climb out of: go only as low as you can return from.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
