Kneeling Jump Squat

From kneeling with a light bar across the back, swing the hips and jump the feet under you into a squat, then stand.

How to do it

Setup

Kneeling on a mat, a light bar across the upper back, toes tucked under.

Steps

  1. Sit the hips back toward the heels.
  2. Drive the hips forward hard and pull the feet under you.
  3. Land in a squat, feet flat, then stand up.

Common mistakes

A bar too heavy to jump with: start with an empty bar or none. Landing on the toes with the knees caving: land flat, knees out. Kneeling on a hard floor: a mat under the knees.

Breathing

Inhale sitting back, exhale on the jump.
