Kneeling Battling Ropes

Alternating rope waves from tall kneeling; with the legs taken out, the arms and the trunk do all the work.

How to do it

Setup

Tall kneeling on a mat facing the anchor, a rope end in each hand, trunk braced.

Steps

  1. Drive alternating waves, one arm up as the other goes down.
  2. Keep the hips pushed forward and the torso still.
  3. Work in short hard intervals and rest between them.

Common mistakes

Sitting back onto the heels: keep the hips over the knees. Waves dying halfway to the anchor: bigger arm drive. Rocking the torso with each wave: brace and keep it still.

Breathing

Rhythmic with the waves; recover in the rests.
