Kettlebell Windmill, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Bell locked out overhead, feet turned ~45° away from it, eyes on the bell.

Steps

  1. Push the hips TOWARD the bell side.
  2. Hinge down along the free leg, hand sliding to the shin.
  3. Rise by driving the hips back under the bell.

Common mistakes

Bending the top arm: locked out, always; eyes on it. Squatting instead of hinging sideways: the hip shift is the move. Going heavy early: the windmill is mobility first.

Breathing

Inhale hinging down, exhale rising.
