Kettlebell Squat
A squat holding a kettlebell in each hand at the sides; the bells hang low and still, so the legs carry the load while the trunk stays tall.
How to do it
Setup
Feet shoulder-width, toes slightly out, a kettlebell hanging at each side, arms long.
Steps
- Squat until the thighs are level, the bells hanging straight down.
- Keep the chest up and the whole foot on the floor.
- Drive up through the feet to stand tall.
Common mistakes
Bells swinging forward: keep the arms long and still at the sides. Knees caving: push them out over the toes. Leaning over the bells to go lower: sit between the heels with the chest up.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale up.
