Kettlebell Resistance Band Full Squat from Deficit

The goblet squat to full depth with the heels raised on plates and a loop band just above the knees; the band pulls the knees in, so the hips must press them out.

How to do it

Setup

Heels on two plates, a loop band above the knees, the kettlebell held by the horns at the chest.

Steps

  1. Sit straight down between the heels, knees pressing out into the band.
  2. Reach full depth with the chest tall behind the bell.
  3. Drive up through the whole foot, knees still wide.

Common mistakes

Knees caving to the band: push them out over the toes on the way down and up. Toes sliding onto the plates: the plates go under the heels only. Dropping into the bottom: control the full depth.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
