Kettlebell Cossack Squat

The Cossack squat holding one kettlebell by the horns at the chest: sit deep into one hip while the other leg stays straight, toes up, then shift across.

How to do it

Setup

Very wide stance, toes slightly out, a kettlebell held by the horns against the chest.

Steps

  1. Sink into one hip, that heel flat and the knee over the toes.
  2. Keep the other leg straight with its toes up.
  3. Stay low as you shift to the other side.

Common mistakes

Bell drifting away from the chest: keep it pinned close. Bent-leg heel lifting: go only as deep as it stays down. Popping up between sides: pass through the middle low.

Breathing

Inhale sitting into the hip, exhale shifting across.
