Jumping Pistol Squat

From the bottom of a pistol squat, jump off the one leg and land back into the pistol; only for those who own a clean pistol.

How to do it

Setup

On one leg, the other held out straight in front, arms reaching forward.

Steps

  1. Sink into a controlled single-leg squat.
  2. Drive up and leave the floor off the one leg.
  3. Land on the same foot and ride it down into the next pistol.

Common mistakes

Trying it before the pistol is solid: master the slow single-leg squat first. Crashing into the bottom on the landing: meet the floor with a bent knee and ride it down. Heel lifting on the catch: land on the whole foot, knee over the toes.

Breathing

Exhale on the jump, inhale landing.
