Iso-Lateral Machine Chest Press

Each arm drives its own lever, so the strong side cannot carry the weak one; press both together or alternate.

How to do it

Setup

Seated, back on the pad, one handle per hand.

Steps

  1. Press both levers together, or one at a time.
  2. Match the weak side's tempo.
  3. Return each side to the full stretch.

Common mistakes

The strong arm racing ahead: the levers exist to EXPOSE that; slow down. Torso twisting on single-arm work: pinned square. Uneven plates: check both sides.

Breathing

Exhale pressing, inhale returning.
