Incline Reverse-Grip Push-Up
An incline push-up on a bar at hip height, the bar gripped underhand; the palm-up grip keeps the elbows close to the ribs.
How to do it
Setup
Bar fixed at hip height, hands on it shoulder-width in an underhand grip, feet back so the body forms one line.
Steps
- Lower the chest to the bar, elbows brushing the ribs.
- Keep the wrists straight under the grip.
- Press back to straight arms.
Common mistakes
Bar not locked in place: use a fixed rack bar or a Smith bar with the hooks set. Wrists bending back under the underhand grip: keep them in line with the forearms. Hips sagging toward the floor: brace, one line from head to heels.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale on the press.
