Handstand Hold

Hold an inverted position against a wall or free; timed, and the shoulders decide how long.

Handstand Hold, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Kick up against a wall (or free), hands shoulder-width, fingers spread.

Steps

  1. Stack shoulders over wrists, hips over shoulders.
  2. Squeeze the glutes, ribs in, legs together.
  3. Hold and breathe; time it.

Common mistakes

Banana back: ribs in, tail tucked; the wall is for CHEST-facing practice too. Fingers passive: they steer the balance; grip the floor. Holding breath: stacked bones breathe fine.

Breathing

Steady small breaths.
