Finger Extension Stretch

Standing with one forearm across the chest, the other hand draws one finger at a time back toward the wrist; the palm side of that finger and the forearm stretch.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, one forearm across the chest with the palm facing out, the other hand holding one of its fingers.

Steps

  1. Draw the finger back toward the wrist until the palm side stretches.
  2. Hold and breathe, the wrist relaxed.
  3. Release, move on to the next finger, and switch hands at the end.

Common mistakes

Yanking the finger back: a slow, steady pull. Gripping only the fingertip: hold the finger near its base so the joints share the pull. Bending the finger sideways: draw it straight back.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
