Dumbbell Tricep Kickback with Stork Stance

The standing kickback balanced on one leg; holding the balance adds work for the hips and the trunk in every rep.

How to do it

Setup

Standing on one leg, the other foot lifted, hinged forward, a bell in each hand, elbows by the ribs.

Steps

  1. Find the balance, then extend both arms back.
  2. Keep the hips level over the standing foot.
  3. Return the forearms slowly; switch legs each set.

Common mistakes

Hips opening toward the lifted leg: keep them square to the floor. Wobbling into a swing: slow the reps until the balance holds. Standing knee locked straight: keep it soft.

Breathing

Exhale extending, inhale returning.
