Dumbbell Standing Bent-Over One-Arm Triceps Extension

The standing bent-over kickback one arm at a time with the feet side by side and nothing to lean on, so the trunk holds the hinge alone.

How to do it

Setup

Feet hip-width, knees soft, hinged forward with a flat back, one bell hanging, the working upper arm along the side.

Steps

  1. Extend the arm back until it is straight in line with the torso.
  2. Hold the hinge and the upper arm still.
  3. Return the forearm under the elbow; switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Rising out of the hinge as the arm extends: the back angle stays set. Twisting toward the working side: shoulders square to the floor. Letting the upper arm drop: keep it along the body.

Breathing

Exhale extending, inhale returning.
