Dumbbell Standing Alternate Arnold Press

The standing Arnold press one arm at a time, the other bell waiting in front of its shoulder with the palm in.

How to do it

Setup

Standing, feet hip-width, both dumbbells in front of the shoulders, palms facing you, elbows forward.

Steps

  1. Press one bell up, turning its palm forward.
  2. Lower it with the reverse turn to the start.
  3. Press the other the same way and keep alternating.

Common mistakes

Waiting arm sagging: keep that bell in front of the shoulder, palm in. Torso swaying with each press: brace and stay square. Skipping the turn on the way down: reverse it every rep.

Breathing

Exhale on each press, inhale lowering.
