Dumbbell Incline T-Raise

Face down on an incline bench, light bells raised straight out to the sides into a T; the arms stay long.

How to do it

Setup

Chest on an incline bench, arms hanging straight, light bells.

Steps

  1. Raise the straight arms out to the sides into a T.
  2. Draw the shoulder blades together at the top.
  3. Lower slowly to a straight-arm hang.

Common mistakes

Elbows bending into a fly: the T needs long arms. Chest lifting off the pad: stay down. Arms drifting toward the head: that is the Y; keep them square to the body.

Breathing

Exhale raising, inhale lowering.
