Dumbbell Incline Alternate Bicep Curl

The incline dumbbell curl one arm at a time; the resting arm hangs straight behind the body while the other curls.

How to do it

Setup

Seated back on an incline bench, dumbbells hanging straight down behind the body, palms forward.

Steps

  1. Curl one bell toward the shoulder, its elbow pointing down.
  2. Lower it fully before the other arm curls.
  3. Keep alternating with the head and back on the bench.

Common mistakes

Working elbow swinging forward: it stays pointing at the floor. Twisting toward the working arm: both shoulders stay on the bench. Rushing into the next arm: one bell hangs fully before the other rises.

Breathing

Exhale on each curl, inhale lowering.
