Dumbbell High-Low Carry

Walk with one dumbbell locked out overhead and the other racked at the shoulder; the uneven load tries to bend the trunk sideways every step.

How to do it

Setup

One bell pressed overhead on a straight arm, the other held at the shoulder with the elbow tucked, ribs down.

Steps

  1. Walk tall, the top arm vertical.
  2. Keep the racked bell still against the shoulder.
  3. Switch the bells between arms halfway and walk back.

Common mistakes

Trunk bending toward the overhead side: stand straight between the two loads. Top elbow softening: lock it or take a lighter bell. Racked elbow flaring out: keep it in close to the ribs.

Breathing

Steady throughout the walk.
