Dumbbell Decline Triceps Extension

The dumbbell lying extension on a decline bench, head below the hips, the bells lowered beside the head.

How to do it

Setup

Decline bench, feet hooked under the pads, bells above the chest in a neutral grip.

Steps

  1. Lower the bells past the ears by bending only the elbows.
  2. Keep the upper arms still, angled slightly back.
  3. Extend until the arms are straight over the chest.

Common mistakes

Getting on and off with heavy bells: pick them up once the feet are hooked, or have them handed over. Upper arms drifting toward the hips: that turns it into a press; fix them. Bells knocking the bench: stop a touch above it.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale extending.
