Chest Stretch with Stability Ball
On all fours beside a stability ball, one straight arm rests on it out to the side and the chest sinks toward the floor, opening the front of that shoulder.
How to do it
Setup
On all fours, a stability ball beside one shoulder, that arm straight out to the side on the ball, the other hand on the floor.
Steps
- Keep the arm long and heavy on the ball.
- Let the chest sink toward the floor until the chest and the front of the shoulder stretch.
- Hold and breathe, then press up and switch sides.
Common mistakes
Ball rolling away: set it so the arm rests at shoulder height. Twisting the hips to go lower: keep them square over the knees. Shoulder hitched up to the ear: draw it down before sinking.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
