Cable Supine Reverse Fly
The reverse fly lying face up on a bench between the high pulleys; the crossed cables pull the arms up, and the rear shoulders open them.
How to do it
Setup
Lying face up on a flat bench centered between the high pulleys, cables crossed, handles together above the chest.
Steps
- Open the straight arms out to the sides until they are level with the bench.
- Keep a soft bend in the elbows and the shoulders on the bench.
- Let the cables draw the hands back over the chest slowly.
Common mistakes
Bench off-center between the towers: set it in the middle so both cables pull alike. Bending the elbows to shorten the arc: keep them softly fixed; this is a fly. Letting the handles snap together: control the return.
Breathing
Exhale opening the arms, inhale bringing them back.
