Cable Standing Reverse Fly
The reverse fly facing a cable column with both pulleys at shoulder height and the cables crossed; the arms open from together in front to a T.
How to do it
Setup
Facing the column, pulleys at shoulder height, cables crossed, a handle in each hand, arms straight and together in front.
Steps
- Open the straight arms out to the sides until the body forms a T.
- Keep the handles at shoulder height the whole way.
- Bring the arms back together in front slowly, the cables crossing again.
Common mistakes
Pulleys set above or below the shoulders: level them with the shoulders so the pull stays horizontal. Arms dropping as they open: keep the line at shoulder height. Leaning back to open wider: stand tall, feet planted; the range ends where the torso would move.
Breathing
Exhale opening, inhale returning.
