Resistance Band Bent-Over Rear Delt Fly

The bent-over rear delt fly against a band held between the hands rather than anchored underfoot; opening the arms stretches it under the chest.

How to do it

Setup

Hinged to near-parallel, back flat, the band held in both hands under the chest, arms hanging long.

Steps

  1. Open the long arms out to the sides, stretching the band.
  2. Stop when the arms line up with the shoulders.
  3. Let the arms come back together slowly, the band still taut.

Common mistakes

Torso lifting a little more with every rep: the hinge angle stays where it started. Band riding up toward the face: keep it under the chest so the arms pull it straight apart. Letting the band snap the hands back together: control the return.

Breathing

Exhale opening the arms, inhale lowering.
