Cable Split-Stance Single-Arm Row

One handle rowed from a chest-height pulley in a long split stance; the legs brace the body so the arm can pull hard.

How to do it

Setup

Long split stance facing the pulley, torso upright, the handle at chest height on a long arm.

Steps

  1. Row the handle to the ribs, elbow past the body.
  2. Keep the hips and chest square to the pulley.
  3. Reach the arm long, then switch the stance and the arm.

Common mistakes

Stance too short to hold the stack: lengthen it. Rotating with the pull: square shoulders. Leaning back to finish: the torso stays upright.

Breathing

Exhale on the row, inhale returning.
