Cable Russian Twists (On Stability Ball)

Bridged over a stability ball side-on to a cable stack, turn the handle away from the pulley on straight arms; the cable pulls you back toward it.

How to do it

Setup

Side-on to a pulley set at chest height, upper back on the ball, hips up, the handle held in both hands on straight arms above the chest.

Steps

  1. Rotate away from the stack until the arms point to the far side.
  2. Hold the hips up as the ball rolls under the shoulders.
  3. Come back to the middle slowly against the cable; finish the side, then switch.

Common mistakes

Cable yanking you back past the middle: resist it all the way in. Hips dropping during the turn: keep the bridge level. Pulling with bent arms: they stay long while the chest turns.

Breathing

Exhale rotating, inhale returning.
