Cable Rope Incline Tricep Extension

The incline cable extension on a rope; the neutral grip spares the wrists and the ends can part at the top.

How to do it

Setup

Incline bench, head toward a low pulley, the rope held above the head, palms facing.

Steps

  1. Lower the rope behind the head by bending the elbows.
  2. Extend, parting the ends as the arms straighten.
  3. Return slowly, elbows pointing up.

Common mistakes

Rope ends hitting the head at the bottom: stop a hand's width short. Elbows flaring as the ends part: part the hands, not the elbows. Shoulders joining in: the upper arms stay still.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale extending.
