Cable Lying Incline Side Leg Raise
Lying on your side on an incline bench with a low cable at the top ankle, lift the leg out against the cable; the bench's angle keeps the cable pulling through the whole raise.
How to do it
Setup
Side-lying on an incline bench, the lower forearm on the pad, the ankle strap on the top leg, the low pulley at your feet.
Steps
- Raise the top leg away from the bench against the cable.
- Hold the top with the hips stacked.
- Lower slowly until the stack almost touches down; finish the side, switch.
Common mistakes
Twisting the hips toward the ceiling: keep them stacked, the foot facing forward. Letting the stack pull the leg down fast: control every lowering. Lying so the cable runs slack at the bottom: move until it pulls from the start.
Breathing
Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
