Cable Lunge

A reverse lunge facing a low pulley, the handle held out on straight arms; the cable pulls you forward.

How to do it

Setup

Facing a low pulley, the handle in both hands at arm's length, feet hip-width.

Steps

  1. Step back into the lunge with the arms straight.
  2. Let the cable hold the torso over the hips.
  3. Stand on the front leg; alternate.

Common mistakes

Pulling the handle toward you: the arms stay long; the legs work. Stepping back too short: the cable drags you forward; reach long. Leaning back against the pull: stay stacked over the hips.

Breathing

Inhale stepping back, exhale driving up.
