Cable Forward Lunge

A forward lunge facing away from a cable stack, the rope held at the chest, so the cable pulls you back as you step.

How to do it

Setup

Back to the stack, rope handle held at the collarbones, cable set at chest height.

Steps

  1. Step forward against the pull and lower.
  2. Rope pinned to the chest, torso tall.
  3. Return to the start under control; switch legs.

Common mistakes

Letting the cable yank you back: resist it all the way home. Leaning forward to fight the pull: stay upright, brace. Standing too close to the stack: step out until the plates hover at the start.

Breathing

Inhale stepping in, exhale pushing back.
