Cable Bent-Over Row with Rope Attachment
The bent-over row pulled from a low cable with a rope, the ends pulled apart beside the ribs at the finish.
How to do it
Setup
Facing the low pulley, hinged to about 45°, back flat, knees soft, the rope held at arm's length.
Steps
- Row the rope to the lower ribs, elbows along the body.
- Pull the ends apart at the finish and squeeze the blades.
- Return to long arms without letting the torso rise.
Common mistakes
Standing up as the stack rises: hold the hinge; the angle is the exercise. Yanking with the lower back: a lighter stack, a smooth pull. Elbows drifting away from the body: they travel along the ribs.
Breathing
Exhale on the row, inhale lowering.
