Cable Bent-Over Reverse-Grip Row

Hinged over facing a low pulley, a bar held underhand and rowed to the waist; the palms-up grip keeps the elbows tight.

How to do it

Setup

Facing the low pulley, hinged to about 45°, back flat, knees soft, the bar held palms up.

Steps

  1. Row the bar to the waist, elbows close to the body.
  2. Hold the hinge still as the stack rises.
  3. Lower to long arms without letting the torso rise.

Common mistakes

Standing up as the stack rises: the hinge is the exercise. Curling the bar with the arms: the elbows lead back. Standing too close to the pulley: step back so the cable pulls down and forward.

Breathing

Exhale on the row, inhale lowering.
