Bodyweight Standing Pulse Calf Raise

The bodyweight calf raise kept near the top: up on the toes, pulse through a short range without lowering the heels.

How to do it

Setup

Feet hip-width on the floor, up on the balls of the feet before the first pulse.

Steps

  1. Dip the heels a little, then drive back up.
  2. Keep every pulse short, heels off the floor.
  3. Lower the heels only when the set is done.

Common mistakes

Heels touching down between pulses: the calves never rest here. Pulses growing deeper as you tire: keep them short. Leaning forward to stay up: hips over the feet.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
