Bodyweight Kneeling Triceps Extension

The body-up from the knees: from the forearms, the elbows straighten to lift the chest onto the hands; the knees take part of the weight.

How to do it

Setup

Kneeling, forearms on the floor ahead of the shoulders, palms flat, hips over the knees.

Steps

  1. Straighten the elbows to lift the chest up onto the hands.
  2. Keep the hands where they are; the elbows do the moving.
  3. Lower the forearms back to the floor slowly.

Common mistakes

Rocking back onto the knees to cheat the lift: keep the hips over the knees. Flaring the elbows out: point them back along the ribs. Dropping onto the forearms: lower them softly.

Breathing

Exhale pressing, inhale returning.
