Body Extension
Kneeling tall with the arms crossed on the chest, press the hips forward and arch back; the camel's backbend without the hands on the heels.
How to do it
Setup
Kneeling tall, knees hip-width, thighs upright, arms crossed on the chest.
Steps
- Press the hips forward over the knees and lift the chest.
- Arch back slowly and hold, the head following last.
- Rise back to tall kneeling, chest first.
Common mistakes
Hips sinking back toward the heels: keep them stacked over the knees. Throwing the head back first: lead with the chest and let the head follow. Arching deeper than you can rise from: stop where the thighs and the belly still control it.
Breathing
Inhale lifting the chest, exhale arching back.
