Battling Ropes Side to Side Arms
Holding a rope end in each hand in a half squat, sweep both arms together from one side to the other, the ropes following in waves.
How to do it
Setup
Facing the anchor in a half squat, back flat, a rope end in each hand low in front.
Steps
- Sweep both hands up and across to one side.
- Swing them back across to the other side without pausing.
- Keep the rhythm and the half squat; log the time.
Common mistakes
Standing up as the arms tire: the half squat anchors the ropes. Hips turning with the arms: the swing comes from the shoulders and the trunk above the hips. Small, lazy arcs: sweep wide enough to move the whole rope.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
