Barbell Walking Lunge
Walking lunges with a bar across the upper back; the bar sits high, so each step has to land balanced under it.
How to do it
Setup
Bar on the upper back, feet hip-width, a long clear path ahead.
Steps
- Take a long step and lower until the back knee nears the floor.
- Rise over the front foot and step through into the next lunge.
- Keep the bar level and the eyes forward on every step.
Common mistakes
Letting the back knee slam down: lower it under control every step. Torso pitching forward under the bar: lighten it and keep the chest up. Turning in a tight space with the bar on: plan the path and stop to turn.
Breathing
Steady with the steps.
