Barbell Pin Good Morning
The good morning from a dead stop: the bar waits on the rack's pins at hinge height, so every rep begins at the hardest point.
How to do it
Setup
In a rack with the bar on the pins at hip-hinge height; step under it bent over, bar across the upper back, knees soft.
Steps
- Set the back flat and tight while the bar still rests on the pins.
- Drive the hips forward to stand tall with the bar.
- Hinge down, let the bar come to rest on the pins, and restart from still.
Common mistakes
Starting with a rounded back because the pins sit too low: raise them until the start is flat. Letting the bar rebound from the pins: it rests there before each rep. Knees locking as the hips rise: they keep their soft bend.
Breathing
Inhale at the bottom, exhale after lockout.
