Barbell Single-Leg Good Morning
The good morning on one leg: the bar on the back, the free leg rises behind as the torso tips forward, and the standing hip does the work.
How to do it
Setup
Bar on the upper back, weight on one foot, standing knee soft, the other foot just touching the floor behind.
Steps
- Hinge on the standing hip, the free leg lifting in line with the torso.
- Keep the hips square to the floor.
- Drive the standing hip forward to return; finish the leg, switch.
Common mistakes
Hip of the free leg opening toward the ceiling: both hip bones point at the floor. Bar tilting as balance goes: slow down and use a lighter bar. Standing knee locked straight: keep a soft bend.
Breathing
Inhale hinging, exhale standing.
