Bar Band Skier
Hinged over the Bar Band set's bar under the feet, the straight arms sweep the bands back from the knees to past the hips, like planting ski poles.
How to do it
Setup
Standing on the bar, hinged forward with the knees soft, a band end in each hand in front of the shins, arms straight.
Steps
- Sweep both straight arms back until the hands pass the hips.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades back at the end of the sweep.
- Let the bands draw the arms forward to the shins slowly.
Common mistakes
Standing up as the arms sweep back: hold the hinge; only the arms move. Bending the elbows into a row: keep them straight through the sweep. Bar shifting under the feet: stand on it with the whole foot.
Breathing
Exhale sweeping back, inhale returning.
