Band Single-Arm Shoulder Press
The band press one arm at a time, the band under the foot on the pressing side; the one-sided pull asks the trunk to stay upright.
How to do it
Setup
Standing on one end of the band's loop with the foot on the working side, the other end at that shoulder, the free hand on the hip.
Steps
- Press the hand straight up over the shoulder until the arm locks.
- Keep the hips and shoulders level against the band's pull.
- Lower to the shoulder under control; finish the set, then switch sides.
Common mistakes
Bending sideways toward the working arm: stand tall, level shoulders. Band anchored under the other foot: the pull then runs across the body; stand on it on the pressing side. Elbow flaring back at the bottom: keep it slightly in front of the shoulder.
Breathing
Exhale on the press, inhale lowering.
