Band Front Lateral Raise

One arm raises against a band stood on, on a line between a front and a side raise, to shoulder height.

How to do it

Setup

Stand on the band, the end in one hand at the thigh, the free arm down.

Steps

  1. Raise the straight arm forward and slightly out to shoulder height.
  2. Pause against the band at the top.
  3. Lower slowly; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

Drifting into a pure side raise: the arm travels on the diagonal. Shrugging against the band: blade down, then raise. Letting the band snap the arm down: lower against it.

Breathing

Exhale raising, inhale lowering.
