Band Fixed Back Underhand Pulldown

The underhand band pulldown with the band anchored straight overhead and the back held fixed upright, so the pull is purely vertical.

How to do it

Setup

Seated upright on a box under the anchor, the ends taken underhand, arms long straight up.

Steps

  1. Pull the ends straight down to the upper chest.
  2. Keep the back fixed; only the arms and blades move.
  3. Let the arms rise back straight up with control.

Common mistakes

Leaning back as the band stretches: the back stays fixed; that is the variant. Elbows drifting forward: drive them down beside the ribs. Half reps at the top: straighten the arms every time.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale returning.
