Assisted Sit-Up
The sit-up with a partner kneeling at your feet and holding them down; pinned feet let you curl all the way up.
How to do it
Setup
On your back, knees bent, arms crossed on the chest, a partner kneeling at the feet and holding the ankles.
Steps
- Curl up from the head down until the chest reaches the knees.
- Keep the arms crossed; the partner only pins the feet.
- Lower slowly until the shoulder blades are back on the floor.
Common mistakes
Jerking up off the floor: curl up one vertebra at a time, head first. Feet lifting out of the partner's hands: the partner keeps the ankles pressed down all set. Falling back flat: lower slowly until the shoulder blades touch.
Breathing
Exhale sitting up, inhale rolling down.
