Weighted Lying Neck Flexion (With Head Harness)

The face-up neck curl on an incline bench, the plate hanging behind the head from a harness instead of resting on the forehead.

How to do it

Setup

Back on an incline bench, head past the top end, arms crossed on the chest, harness on and the plate hanging behind.

Steps

  1. Let the head tip back under the plate, a small range.
  2. Bring the chin forward and down until the head sits upright.
  3. Tip back slowly, stopping before the neck arches fully.

Common mistakes

Head dropping back fast under the plate: lower as slowly as you lift. Shoulders peeling off the pad to help: the back stays on the bench. Plate swinging on the chain: let it settle before the next rep.

Breathing

Exhale curling, inhale lowering.
