Twisted Leg Lunge Pose
A kneeling low lunge with the palms pressed together and the torso turned toward the front leg, the opposite elbow hooked outside the knee; the back knee stays down.
How to do it
Setup
Back knee on a folded mat, front shin upright, hands joined in front of the breastbone.
Steps
- Rotate the ribs toward the front thigh until the far elbow rests outside the knee.
- Press the palms together to deepen the turn, the gaze over the top shoulder.
- Hold and breathe, lengthening the spine on each inhale.
- Unwind to the middle and switch legs.
Common mistakes
Collapsing the chest to reach the knee: lengthen first, then turn. Front knee pushed inward by the elbow: keep it steady over the ankle. Holding the breath in the twist: breathe slowly and turn a little further on each exhale.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
