Swimmer
Face down with the chest and legs held off the floor, flutter the straight legs while the arms reach long in front and draw back toward the shoulders, as in a swim stroke.
How to do it
Setup
Face down, arms stretched in front, legs long; lift the chest and the legs a little off the floor.
Steps
- Flutter the straight legs up and down in small beats.
- Reach the arms forward, then draw them back toward the shoulders.
- Keep the chest and legs up the whole set; time it.
Common mistakes
Chest dropping as the arms draw back: the lift holds through every stroke. Head craning up: eyes on the floor, neck long. Big kicks from the lower back: small beats from the hips.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
